East PoS is a highly populated area and requires a certain level of health, recreational, sporting, and other community facilities and social services for its residents.

Short Term: 1-3 Years Long Term: 7+ Years

Work with the relevant agencies and alongside community groups to determine needs for community centres, health centres, sporting and recreational facilities, and other community facilities within East PoS.

  • The provision and development of these facilities should be guided by feedback from the community, input of the relevant state agencies, maximization of use of existing facilities (to be monitored), and development of new facilities as needed.
  • Facilities should also be guided by considerations such as accessibility within a specified walking distance and the hierarchy of urban centres (see Data and Methodology for details), and should take into account facilities within the communities bordering East PoS that are assessible to its residents, but not located within the defined boundaries of East PoS.
  • Sporting facilities should focus on a variety of disciplines such as football, cricket, tennis, swimming, and other areas based on interest.
  • Sporting facilities should aim to be regulation size appropriate to the particular sport.
