Community engagement in the development of East PoS is vital to ensuring buy-in and that existing residents as well as new residents enjoy the benefits of growth and prosperity. All citizens of East Port-of-Spain shall have an opportunity to participate in and influence decision-making and development actions.

Short Term: 1-3 Years

Establish Citizens Advisory Committees to address six critical sectoral issues (crime, housing, economic activity, environment, infrastructure, community governance).

Short Term: 1-3 Years / Long Term: 7+ Years

Establish and chair an Intersectoral Stakeholder Roundtable comprising key stakeholders as a mechanism for on-going coordination and collaboration.

Short Term: 1-3 Years

Prepare an updated communications/public participation/community relations strategy to disseminate information to residents and stakeholders, and facilitate community involvement, ownership and monitoring of development projects.

Medium Term: 4-6 Years

Develop community outreach and feedback functionality on the revamped East PoS Development Company website, allowing for easier community involvement

Short Term: 1-3 Years / Long Term: 7+ Years

Strengthen the capacity of the Company’s communications/community outreach department
